Skype - Another way to save on phone calls

Do you love to talk on the phone, have friends all over the world? Do long distance bills cramp your style? If you answered yes to any of these questions I invite you to try out Skype. Skype is software that lets you make free calls over the Internet. The Skype program has already had over 100 million downloads and every day over 150,000 new users Skype and our 33 million active users. Because Skype is free to download and so easy to setup, I was using the program to call friends in Germany, Brazil and Australia in minutes. With a decent set of headphones and micraphone you can experience remarkable sound quality using Skype. It is possible to exceed the quality of sound available on conventional telephone systems.

Akimbo - What A Great Idea

After checking out the "best of what's new" at CES (consumer electronics show) for innovation and an award from popular science, I decided to investigate a product named Akimbo. This device looks great! I don't know how many times I have gotten upset with the cable company for charging me for all these channels I never watch. “Give the people what they want at a fair price” I say. Aside from Burger Kings' slogan, Akimbo is the closest thing out there to that for television. The unassuming box lets you choose your programming at a very reasonable flat monthly rate. For about $10.00 USD you get a month of service. The best part is the content gets downloaded off of the internet sao there is no waiting for that next show to come on, it's always a click away. You can also purchase a lifetime subscription for under $170.00 USD. This leaves cable and the dish in the dust in many areas. I will have to wait until mine arrives to give a full breakdown on service and quality. With over 2000 shows on demand, how could you go wrong?! Did I mention it can store up to 150 hours of video like TiVo, has wireless networking capability and has a great deal of network channels?
